Even when we're
not seeing eye to eye
which seems to be these days
more often than not
I still believe we can
build another bridge
to cross the troubled water
and hope isn't lost
just cause the last one
was washed out in the storm
it can be a long journey
to the place where
the sunshine finds it's way
even through the clouds
to where you sit
hidden waiting
for all things to pass
and to feel warm all over again
so knowing that I
bite my tongue til it bleeds
the pain the price of
resolving to stay in the fight
and having the fight
sometimes means losing
a round or two
pickin' my battles
hoping that the war
will shift in my favor
and you'll remember
the feeling I used to give you
and you allow yourself to
let it come over you again
and we start back over
cause even we we're not
looking like we're going to make it
I still believe this to be
a divine connection
to bountiful to let go easily
so I'm praying for us
even when we're
nothing more than
just friends...
